Various species of marine fish that belong to the Trachipteridae family and live at the depth of the sea is generally called ribbonfish. Ribbonfish has a long body. Ribbonfish has 3 major genera:

  • Desmodena
  • Zu
  • Trachipterus

 

Although most species of the Trachipteridae family are between 2 and 3 feet long, the largest specie of the Trachipteridae family can reach more than 6 feet long.
